Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)

EPC Certificates show how energy efficient a commercial building is.  A building can be graded from A to G, A being the most efficient.

The Certificate is compulsory for particular types of buildings and uses.  There are hefty fines for not having a certificate so it’s worth checking on the Government website if it applies to you. https://www.gov.uk/energy-performance-certificate-commercial-property.

You must have an EPC if:

  • you rent out or sell a premises
  • a building under construction is now finished
  • there are changes to the number of parts used for separate occupation and these changes involve providing or extending fixed heating, air conditioning or mechanical

You must display an EPC if:

  • the total useful floor area is over 500 square metres
  • the building is frequently visited by the public
  • an EPC has already been produced for the building’s sale, rental or construction

How to obtain a Commercial Energy Performance Certificate

Our qualified assessors can carry out a full energy assessment of your building and provide you with a detailed report and a certificate.  The EPC will show the grade of your building and allow you to make an informed decision about any changes that, if required, can improve your energy efficiency.
